By now you’ve probably heard the news–Tiger Woods was involved in a car accident earlier today, with early reports saying Woods was in ’serious’ condition after losing control of his SUV after backing out of his driveway around 2:30 a.m.  Apparently Tiger’s wife, Elin Nordegren, heard the accident and rushed out of the house to find her husband inside the damaged vehicle.  Woods had run over a fire hydrant and hit a tree before coming to a stop.  The vehicle’s airbags did not deploy.  When emergency services arrived they found Nordegren standing over Woods, with a golf club in her hand, after she had smashed the back window out to retrieve her injured husband.  Woods was supposedly in and out of consciousness when the police arrived.  He has since been treated and release, suffering from facial lacerations.

The well-known celebrity gossip site TMZ is reporting that Woods and Nordegren were involved in an altercation right before the accident occurred.  One Florida Law enforcement official referred to it as a ‘domestic issue.’

The argument comes in the wake of rumors of Woods infidelity with New York ‘party girl’ Rachel Uchital. The accusations were revealed 48 hours earlier in the always factual National Enquirer magazine.

In time the real truth will hopefully reveal itself–and for the sake of Tiger’s children, and his squeaky-clean image, this turns out to be just a huge misunderstanding.
