Despite all the controversy surrounding Tiger Woods, he was voted the PGA Tour player of the year by the players on Friday. It was the tenth time in his 13 years on the PGA Tour that he won the award.

In the beginning of the season, he was coming off knee surgery and as you know (unless you have been living under a rock), he is now on indefinite leave from golf to work on his marriage. This year, Tiger won a total of six PGA Tour events and won the money title for the ninth time in his career with over .5 million. It was the second time that he won player of the year honors without winning a major.

On the year, Woods won the Arnold Palmer Award (money title), Byron Nelson Award (lowest adjusted scoring average) and Jack Nicklaus Award (player of the year). He’s probably leading the way in the Fall From Grace voting as well — pretty soon his number of mistresses will surpass his number of sponsors.
