Fred Couples is 50-years-old, a fact which I find mind-blowing, seeing that Couples was probably my favorite golfer growing up.  And if he’s now 50, and eligible to play on the Champions Tour, then that makes me older than I want to imagine.  But time marches on, and yes, Fred Couples is all set to make his Champions Tour debut in a tournament that best suits him–the 2010 Champions Skins game.

Unofficially dubbed “the King of Skins,” Couples seemed to own the regular Skins game, wonky back and all.  In 14 Skins matches, he earned an astounding .183 million, and the aforementioned moniker.

While the original Skins game has gone the way of the dodo, the Champions Skins game lives on, and the 2010 version should be a good one.  Along with Couples, spectators will get to see Nick Price, Tom Watson, Fuzzy Zoeller, Ben Crenshaw, Jack Nicklaus and Gary Player tee it up at Royal Kaanapali, all gunning for the 0,000 total prize money.

Couples will be matched up with Price, while Zoeller and Crenshaw try to repeat last year’s victory.  Nicklaus and Watson will be teamed up once again, with Player and Loren Roberts making up the final two-man team.
