Garcia says that his goal is to play in the Abu Dhabi Golf Championship. That tournament, which takes place in the United Arab Emirates, is scheduled to begin on January 21st. For him to be able to play, his hand injury will need to heal within the next week or two. However, with the way Garcia is talking, his participation sounds like a long shot.

“What’s clear is that even with the rest it’s not better and we’re a little bit worried,” said Garcia.

In 2009, Garcia won only a single tournament. Once considered to be a player who could challenge Tiger Woods, Garcia’s career has had its ups and downs.
